Using a third party contact form

SupportCategory: TA PlutonUsing a third party contact form
Tony asked 2 years ago

Hi there,
 I have been trying to add additional fields in the contact form. I added a few but then noticed that the contact details after the form, (phone icon and phone number details), were hidden by the form since the form div was enlarged , (because of the extra fields).
So I’m wondering, can I use a third party contact form plugin and add a different form in the same place, without affecting the content underneath?

Thanks for this info..

Hi Tony, I’m sorry for the delay. You can use a third party contact form plugin to add another contact form, as the plugin support display shortcodes with PHP. Just past the PHP code to the Home Page Template file and it will work. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks!

Hey Kevin..
  Thanks for answering..! The reason I want to replace the contact form that is already within the theme is because I’m having a hard time adding fields and making them work..! Just to get a clear picture of what you’re saying..: I can use another plugin, IF, it supports shortcodes with PHP…? Not certain what this means…I’m planning on using Ninja forms for example..would it work..?
Thank you…

Hello, I’m not sure whether Ninja Forms Basic version supports shortcode, you can try to get help from the author. Replace the build-in contact form with shortcode is very easy. First you need delete all contact form PHP code from Home Page Template, then add shortcode. For example, if you use Contact Form 7 plugin, you need add the following code.

<?php echo do_shortcode('[contact-form-7-example id="1"]'); ?>

Replace the id with the one you created. Also you may need add your own styles for the contact form.

Hi Kevin,
Thank you very much for your help..appreciated! I do however have other issues when doing this! I created a Contact form 7, similar to the one I want to have and replaced the contents just like you said, (though I wasn’t sure how to apply the styling your original form has), but the result was nowhere near what I wanted. The background of the container around the form was black plus, when clicking on the menu item, it didn’t bring me to the contact section. The auto scroll did not work…!
I’m going to ask you for a quote on a customised content of this form..!
